The Uncommon Page 5
This is a memorial to the paupers buried
in the Jacksonville (OR) Cemetery, which
I think is quite unusual.

This stone is an extraordinarily handsome yet unusual
design.  The infant's name is a palindrome and the
baby's foot prints are above.

I'm not sure how to catalog this.
It is covered entirely with tiles.

There are many allusions to sleeping in cemeteries.  This
one is very straight forward.

An extremely delicate and well designed
monument for a 23 day old infant.

After viewing thousands of memorials, this is the
most interesting one I have ever seen
.
Thanks to John Cox.  Highgate Cemetery, London.

This single 15 ton stone (except for the chimney)
was carved by skilled masons.  It is in Elmwood
Cemetery, Charlotte, NC.  The monument is
absolutely stunning with individualization and
great personality.  Henry Severs has every right to
be proud of this terrific work.
The stone on the right is the
face, a CA Highway Patrolman.
The point of interest is its back
(below).  It say:
"My Hero is my Dad
They are my hero because
he is a cop."
What better tribute can a son
leave for his father....
